Our assumptions have now been confirmed:
The Affing Christmas Market is the most beautiful christmas market in Bavaria!

The Munich brewery Löwenbräu initiated the search for the most beautiful christmas market in the end of 2004. Over 190 markets joined the competition and Affing Christmas Market made number one!

This huge success was based on the overwhelming participation of the market's visitors. On the four days of the market alone, over 10,500 voting ballots were returned. In the end Affing got over 14,500 votes.

The visitors came from the closer vicinity (as Augsburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Nuremberg), from further away (say Aachen, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Leipzig, Chemnitz) and from abroad (for example: Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, USA, Chile).

The Affing Christmas Market is organized as a registered non-profit association and run by a honorary board. Each year the market donates money to charitable organizations. This year we support a local division of the "Malteser Hilfsdienst" (comparable to the red cross) and the "Hilfe für Kinder aus Tschernobyl" (helping children from Chernobyl).

The Affing Christmas Market celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2004 and the title "Bavaria's most beautiful christmas market" was really a nice present. And the town of Affing is pleased to receive 10,000 euros from Löwenbräu for charitable uses.
